Dinner after the Liceu

Can Lluís is a traditional Catalan restaurant, open since 1929, about 12 minutes on foot from the Gran Teatre del Liceu. We are at Carrer de la Cera 49, in El Raval.

It depends on the start time

Performances at the Liceu do not all end at the same time. As a guide:

  • Performance at 17:00 or 18:00 (often on Sundays): even a long opera ends at around 20:30 or 21:30. You have plenty of time for dinner: book between 21:00 and 21:45.
  • Concert or recital at 19:30: if it runs for about two hours, you will make it. Book between 21:45 and 22:15.
  • Long opera at 19:30: it can end at around 23:00, when the kitchen is already closed. On that day, come for lunch before the performance: we serve from 13:00 to 16:30.

The last booking is at 22:15 and the kitchen takes orders until 22:30; after that you are welcome to linger over dessert and wine. In the evening we open at 20:00, which is why there is no dinner service before an evening performance. Before you book, check the running time of your performance on the Liceu website.

It is about 12 minutes on foot across El Raval: from La Rambla along Carrer de l’Hospital to Plaça del Pedró, and from there along Carrer de la Cera to number 49. See the walking route from the Liceu →

Groups

We have three dining rooms seating between 25 and 30 people each. A group of up to 30 can sit together in one room; for groups, please book in advance.
